THE USE OF RELATIVE CLAUSES AS THE POST MODIFIERS OF THE NOUN PHRASE CONSTRUCTIONS IN THE STUDENTS’ THESIS BACKGROUND

چکیده

This study concerns on how the undergraduate students of English Language Education Study Program use relative clauses as post modifiers noun phrases in their thesis background and errors found causes phrase constructions. Thirty were asked to be subjects data taken from backgrounds. The total 226 with constructed ten found. From interviews conducted fifteen subjects, caused by (1) different structures grammar point (the modifiers) Indonesian, (2) gap time teaching learning activities concept that forget about structures, (3) pace students’ which did not match lecturers’ pace. results show even though awareness was moderately high, they need reminded encouraged produce more complex sentences improve background.
